Alzheimers

I'm going to visit my mother this weekend. She is in a nursing home; she has Alzheimers. Unless you have a family member with this disease, you can't possibly understand what it is like. When they portray someone on television with the disease, it is not anything like real Alzheimers. You lose your family members slowly; they change, and at first, you don't recognize what the problem is. When we'd visit Mom in her own home, she'd repeat stories, get mad at family members, have trouble playing ca… Continue

A vision for Lennox

Lennox is a small town just 15 miles from South Dakota largest city, Sioux Falls. I think it is the very best spot to be in South Dakota. We enjoy all the benefits of living in a small town, yet we can get to the mall or theater quicker than some of the Sioux Falls residents. I like walking up and down the streets and hearing all the people greet you as you pass. We have a lot to offer in Lennox - a great park, swimming pool, great schools, an active senior center, a Main Street business distric… Continue

Dust storms

They come and go. We can go two weeks without one and then we can get a week with nothing but dust storms. They keep planes and helos out of the sky. Everybody gets stuck where they are and nobody can go on leave. This pic was taken right after a HUGE blast of sand just hit her. It looked like a dump truck had just dumped and blew at her. We get dust devils too that would blow your mind. I have seen six at one time and they can get to the size of tornados but they just dont move as fast. Its not uncommon to see one several hundred feet high. They look like huge fires in the distance, but they are dust devils. They like to chase people. You just stand and wait them out. If you run you have a good chance of getting run down and running with it. I have some funny stories about people seemingly being singled out and chased.

Lennox has a Wikipedia listing. They let you spice it up and add pictures though. The listing now is pretty much just the census report for 2000. I learned Lennox has 20% more females than males. So maybe you could market it as a bachlors paradise. :) How about "What happens in Lennox stays in Lennox". LOL
